Counseling Services p. 8 - University of Mississippi Medical Center 2009-2010 BULLETIN. The Medical Center sponsors confidential mental health counseling service administered off campus. This service is available to all Medical Center students. There is no charge for the initial appointment and nominal charges for additional appointments. Deans and/or their designees and other professional staff also are available to students for counseling services throughout the student's career.

Attendance: p. 287 - University of Mississippi Medical Center 2009-2010 BULLETIN Regular class attendance is a student obligation, and a student is responsible for all assigned work.  No right or privilege exists which permits a student to be absent from any given number of class meetings.  If a student misses more classes than the instructor deems advisable, the instructor will report the fact to the program director for appropriate action.  Only the course instructor or the departmental chair excuses absences from class for valid reasons.

Substance Abuse p. 9 - University of Mississippi Medical Center 2009-2010 BULLETIN The Drug Free Schools and Communities Act (PL101-226) requires that students and employees avoid the illicit use of drugs and the abuse of alcohol. The University of Mississippi Medical Center has adopted and implemented a program to prevent the illicit use of drugs and abuse of alcohol by students and employees. The publication, Policies For A Drug Free Campus, is available in the Office of Student Records and Registrar, and the Student Affairs Offices in each of the schools.  Students must adhere to the Substance Abuse Policy as located in the UMHC Administrative Policy and Procedure manual A-8.
